If The Urban Grape has a signature event, it’s Kosher with a Kick (KWAK!). Like the Israelites escaping slavery in Egypt, The Urban Grape originally held KWAK to free your Passover table from the shackles of Manischewitz. But in two short years this event has come to mean so much more to our clients, and to all of us at UG.

KWAK has become a rite of passage into spring – an annual celebration of food and wine, friendship and community. This year, TJ will pick the kosher wines he feels will best suit your Passover table, while celebrated chef Michael Scelfo of Russell House Tavern will re-imagine traditional Passover food to have a sustainable, seasonally-inspired, classic New England feel.

Additionally, we're lucky to have Prism, the young adult initiative of the New Center for Arts and Culture, as our partner in KWAK. Director Laura Mandel will join us to talk about ways to incorporate new traditions into your Passover celebrations.

In Judaism, the grape is considered the symbol for the choice - or gift - of life. At The Urban Grape, we believe that we can enhance memories, joy, friendship and, yes, life, through the perfectly picked bottle of wine.
